Latin women artists working in the greater Houston area, have formed a community to mentor and support each other in their art careers that are at various stages of development.
Arielle Masson, artist and professor at the Glassell School of Art of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, identified the need for so many of her Latina students to be better connected and supported. The group met the idea of having a more powerful voice in the art community with great enthusiasm. It meets regularly at their studios, and is actively looking for opportunities to exhibit. Ms. Masson - an internationally exhibiting artist- is giving generously of her time, mentorship and knowledge to continue to support LAWAH.
