MIGDALIA CUFFARO
I have been involved with art almost all my life. I started studying art during the 70”s in the Plastic Art School of my natal city in Venezuela. I also studied several years in Caracas with some national recognized Venezuelan artists. Currently, I am attending The Glassell School of Art where I changed my realistic style and embraced Abstract Geometry in my paintings.
My work is based in the eye’s movement looking for elements hidden in the lines. I know that my goal is accomplished when the observer explores my work, looking the intersections of the lines, figures in the background, pattern changes and the dynamic of color. I work with different materials that transport my experience toward different sensations and I use colors that are related with nature and with my memories.
He estado involucrada con arte casi toda mi vida. Comencé estudiando arte en los años 70 en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de mi Ciudad natal en Venezuela. También estudie varios años en Caracas con algunos artistas Venezolanos muy reconocidos en el medio artístico Venezolano. En el presente estudio en Glassell School of Art en Houston, donde cambie mi estilo realista al estilo Abstracto Geométrico.
Mi trabajo este basado en el movimiento de la vista a través de la búsqueda de elementos escondidos en las líneas. Se que he logrado mi meta cuando el observador explora mi trabajo buscando las intersecciones, figuras en el fondo, cambio de patrones y dinámica de colores. Trabajo con diferentes materiales que transportan mi experiencia hacia diferentes sensaciones y los colores que uso están relacionados con la naturaleza y con mis recuerdos.
