RAQUEL OCANDO
Raquel was born in Venezuela and lived in the United States for the last 15 years. She received a degree in Architecture at the University of Zulia in Venezuela. She has Studied at the Glassell School Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and also studied art at Lone Star College. She has participated in several art exhibitions in the Katy Contemporary Art Museum ( KCAM) in Texas and several invitational and jury exhibitions. She has received several art awards.
The genius power in a dream in the Artist. A work of art requires a little mystery , some inaccuracies and a bit of fantasy. Color is part of my world. Years in Architecture gave to me a fantastic perspectives, conceptualization and refined eye. Taking this knowledge and experience and applying it into my colorful and vibrant art work. My Venezuelan heritage is quite visible. My art work promotes happiness, stability and reminds us how fun it can be to dream.
Raquel nació en Venezuela y ha vivido en los Estados Unidos por los últimos 15 años.Recibió el titulo de Arquitecto en la universidad del Zulia en Venezuela. Estudio arte en Glassell , la escuela del Museo de Arte de la ciudad de Houston. También estudio arte en Lone Star College. Ha participado en varias exhibiciones de arte en el museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Katy (KCAM) en Texas. También ha recibido varias invitaciones a participar en exhibiciones por jurado recibiendo varios premios.
