ZULMA VEGA
Zulma Vega is a Colombian artist who made Houston her home since 2012. Currently, her work spans painting, sculpture and ceramic and is influenced by psychological and spiritual matters. Her style incorporates figurative language through an abstract expression using mainly wood, stoneware, resin and acrylic painting on different surfaces. Her art is a series of creative and experimental processes that describe a personal awareness that is common to anyone. Her pieces more than cathartic, invite us to ask ourselves about our ancestors, intimate inquiries, hidden feelings, thoughts and the dynamism of the psyche. She earned her certificate in Painting and Sculpture at The Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH) in June, 2021 and is an MFA student at the University of Houston ('24). Vega has exhibited in different locations in Houston, Texas.
Zulma Vega es una artista colombiana que hizo de Houston su hogar desde 2012. Actualmente, su trabajo abarca pintura, escultura y cerámica y está influenciado por asuntos psicológicos y espirituales. Su estilo incorpora el lenguaje figurativo a través de una expresión abstracta utilizando principalmente madera, greda, resina y pintura acrílica en diferentes superficies. Su arte es una serie de procesos creativos y experimentales que describen una conciencia personal común a todos. Sus piezas más que catárticas, nos invitan a preguntarnos por nuestros antepasados, indagaciones íntimas, sentimientos ocultos, pensamientos y el dinamismo de la psique. Recibió su certificado en Pintura y Escultura en The Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH) en Junio, 2021 y es estudiante de Master en Bellas Artes en la Universidad de Houston ('24). Vega ha expuesto en diferentes lugares de Houston, Texas.
